Postpartum - the 4th Trimester

You've just finished a 9 month marathon, congratulations! As you come back down from childbirth and get resettled into life with your newest family member, the first 10 weeks postpartum are critical to take care of your body by replenish your energy and re-balancing your system. Acupuncture and Chinese medicine can:

  • Nourish the body from extreme energy expenditure and blood loss from childbirth

  • Support reproductive hormonal changes

  • Reduce stress, anxiety, depression, overwhelm

  • Reduce mastitis flare ups

  • Increase milk supply

  • Improve energy

  • Eliminate hemorrhoids / digestive discomfort

  • Calm the nervous system

Most mommas don't want to leave their sweet baby for the first time, which is very understandable. I invite mommas to bring their newborn to their postpartum treatments to nurse them while they get acupuncture if that would give them more comfort and ease to get care for themselves. You can receive acupuncture days after birth to start the healing process. It is easy to neglect your care after the marathon ends and new life begins! But your baby needs you to be healthy and well, your family needs you to be healthy and well, and YOU need you to be healthy and well. Wherever you're at in your postpartum journey, acupuncture and TCM can support you.
